Reorganizing Washington State Government
The Washington State Legislature passed Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5931 in the 2011 Legislative Special Session. On June 15, 2011, portions of the bill were approved by Governor Gregoire.

As approved, Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5931 eliminates the Department of Information Services, and creates three new agencies: Consolidated Technology Services (CTS), the Department of Enterprise Services, and the Office of the Chief Information Officer.
